Who's Who?

Geoff is a trainee angel who's attempts to engineer a better future have all failed and in one particular case (construction of the supreme angelic robot) made things a lot worse.
Stuffed in student accomodation, life is tough enough having to share a house with a demon, the problems heaped on recently have pushed him to breaking point and it's unlikely he'll ever graduate if things get much worse.
Behind the 4th Wall:
Geoff was originally drawn to look sort of jesus-like, with long hair and a beard, but his character gradually developed into a blonde more hippy like figure, hence the cigarette. As far as I know the cigarette has caused considerable amusement for some fans, because the lack of a filter makes it look a lot like it may actually be cannabis he smokes.
Personally I'd rather leave this topic open for discussion and the possibility of a future storyline.

Eric is a trainee demon who seems a little stupid at times but is often the first character to notice really important things, suggesting that he might be faking his ignorance.
Eric is the creator of a giant robot called Cerberus which has gone on a rampage to destroy the world. Knowing that, if it succeeds God's going to boot him into the next millennium, Eric is working against his instincts to try and stop his creation.
His efforts have also increased tenfold since he fell in love with another angel working to thwart Cerberus- Geoff's Japanese cousin Ayiiika.
Behind the 4th Wall:
Eric was designed as the opposite of Geoff, which is why he has short spiky dark hair. Despite what people say he isn't an ethnic minority and was never intended to be.
Most of Eric's emotions and reactions over the duraction of the comic have been based upon my friend Dave, who frankly is the perfect model for an ultimate evil who's heart isn't in it.

Ayiiika was the first female character in the comic (not including Bambi's mother and the rat in the kitchen - neither of whom have actually been shown).
She is not very happy about the advances of Eric, who seems to be taking her quite obvious signs of rejection as either challenges or complements.
Behind the 4th Wall:
She is Japanese because as everyone knows, all the best cartoon chicks are in Japanese Manga and Anime. Hence she is the only character who's eyes are expressively feminine.
Ayiiika was given 3 iiis in the name because of a suggestion from my brother when I mentioned her. I was going to call her Aika until he intervened. Well done Chris.
She may be magical, because it was her power which made a time-hole in the roof.
It's interesting to note that even though the advances of Eric are based upon Dave's advances on a Girl called Joanna, Ayiiika isn't really based upon her at all.

Ginger is a mailman who got so much work from Geoff and Eric that he got to know them quite well and even after they stopped sending for mail order robot parts, he still visited them.
Unfortunately he's currently quarantined in the bathroom because of an unusual flesh eating virus which has trapped him in there. He hasn't been shown for a while but he'll play a part later. Trust me.
Behind the 4th Wall:
Ginger was originally just known as Mailman in the strip. I'd arbitrarily given him a name based upon his hair color and put that on the characer guide, but only when he contracted the flesh eating virus did any of the other characters use his name.
In early renders, Ginger was supposed to wear a hat but it didn't fit under the halo so he was given a clipboard instead.

Colin was delivered to Geoff by accident when he ordered a pneumatic ram. Were it not for the fact that he was so damn cute, he'd have sent Colin back.
Since that moment he's just sort of been the pet of the household, and is, much to his annoyance, the recognised mother of the dragon who is NOT called Spiffy.
Behind the 4th Wall:
Colin's face and expressions were based upon a set of toys which were advertised a lot when I was a child and as far as I know have been recently re-released, called Sylvanian Families, all of which had no facial orifices and wide stary eyes.

The dragon has no name as of yet. The only thing which has been ascertiained is that it is definitely NOT called Spiffy.
It's gender is also currently indeterminate. Infact the only thing known about it is that it makes a funny mwergle noise which no one understands and is a very long time away from being big enough to stop Cerberus.
Behind the 4th Wall:
The name NOT Spiffy is the product of a conversation on my brother's 22nd birthday. I did a poll of the guys, for dragon names and someone suggested Spiffy. Chris insisted that Spiffy was the worst name it couldever have, and the ensuing argument led to us finally saying "Let's just call it Not-Spiffy".
Chris recently told me that the length of time I gave for the dragon to come of age (6*1045 years) is approximately the age of the universe cubed.
Oh yeah, and although in the comic the dragon is of indeterminate age and nameless, her name is Cookie.

Eric's father has recently taken great offense at his son actively trying to SAVE the world instead of destroy it.
As such he no longer acknowledges Eric as his offspring.
Behind the 4th Wall:
To stop Edward from basically being a bald Eric, I decided to darken his skin tone. I like the effect it gives of Eric being the product of a mixed race relationship. Go multinationalism!

Edna is Eric's mother. She is well known to provide frankly appaling relationship advice.
The actions of Eric's parents are referred to very infrequently, but it's clear that they're still working because Edna recently had a job with the phone company. Yes, that's right when she got paid to brutally sodomize Geoff with a lightsabre. I think that was probably the most centraversial comic I'm ever going to write.
Behind the 4th Wall:
Why Edna? Well look atthe names. All the good characters names start with G. All the Evil character's name start with E. All the creature's names start with C. The only' anime character's name start's with A. Besides her eyes look like a pair of Dame Edna's glasses, so the name sort of stuck.

Rosencrantz and Guildenstern, the microbes, are the only characters who exist outside of the GnE universe.
They're called Rosencrantz ang Guildenstern for a reason. Like the characters from Shakespeare's Hamlet and the spin-off Tom Stoppard play Rosencrantz and Guildenstern are Dead, the microbes have never been distinguished from eachother, neither shall they be. They alwaysappear as a pair and are named as a pair. They have no individuality.
I created them because I wanted to make a couple of comics about me getting new rendering software, but I didn't fancy doing a comic of just photo's of me. Hence the microbes became a 4th-wall-less avatar far me to speak through.
